Cheddar fig mustard scones
You will need:
1 spring onion
50g cheddar cheese
½ egg
100g creme fraiche
60 ml milk
30g fig mustard
1 tsp baking powder
30g butter
200g wheat flour
salt/pepper
The mixture is enough for 8 small scones.
- preheat oven to 180 degrees top and bottom heat
- grate cheddar cheese
- wash spring onion and cut into fine rings
- mix egg, crème fraîche and mustard in a bowl
- add cheddar cheese and spring onions, season with pepper and salt
- put flour, salt and baking powder in another bowl, cut butter into cubes and add, knead the mixture with your fingers
- knead the contents of the two bowls into a smooth dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a circle about 2 cm thick
- cut the dough into 8 triangles like a pizza, place on the tray, brush with milk and bake for about 20 minutes
